We have another week out here in our rental house in Copper Basin Arizona and I want to get the most I can while in the area. We have a cotton field about a 1/2 mile from the house and it provides a pretty cool backdrop with the mountains and such. They just picked all the cotton on some fields and have it bundled up for trucks to take it
Just before you get to the field there is a big sign that say’s the road is closed. Of course that is just an invitation for someone with a camera like me.
I have been telling myself that I needed a picture of this sign. Just something about it with the mountains in the background made it look cool to me.
The cotton bail is the size of a back of an 18 wheeler and is just ready to be put on a truck.
The rain storm was coming over the mountains but I didn’t care. I have seen fire and I have seen rain. I thought the rain was moving away from me. Nothing like a city boy trying to guess the weather in a cotton field.
Sometimes I like taking pictures with junk in the way. Here we have a great shot of mountains surrounded by tractor parts and all sorts of irrigation hoses and pipes. The dark clouds should have been a warning.
While I saw a storm in front of me I had no idea what what was coming from behind.
Depending on where you look first in this picture you will see something totally different. What did you see first the mountains, the clouds, or the large piece of farm equipment? Let me know in the comments below.
This is what I saw when I turned around. Yes there was a storm on both sides of me and by the time I took this picture I was already getting wet. Standing in a cotton field in the pouring rain with a t-shirt and jeans. I was soaked and still had about a mile to walk back to the house. I stopped on the way out to take a new picture of the sign. Maybe I should have listened!
As always these prints are for sale in my Loxly Gallery Smug Mug Account.
