This past week I had the honor of hanging out with one of my photography mentors Trey Ratcliff. Trey was in town with his team to kick off his #TreyUSA tour where he is doing these photo walks all over the country. We started under the Brooklyn Bridge but I got there a little early to take some photos of the carousel and the bridge of course.
This carousel is an amazing place for photos because of the glass and the East river providing a nice backdrop. I could spend all day there taking photos. While I was there I also took a video for background filler in case I ever make a Brooklyn video.
This glass house was there with stained glass windows and I don’t know why and didn’t bother asking anyone. I started shooting it and then I saw the reflection of the Freedom tower in the glass and I fired off a bunch of pictures. You can see more of them on the Facebook page.
Then we started our walk over the Brooklyn bridge and it was an amazing sunset we were walking into. The sun was reflecting off everything. This building must have been glowing with colors on the inside from all the colors the sun was giving it. The sky was really pink, then purple, then dark. With the clouds overhead it seemed to reflect on everything it could.
With the amount of photographers it was hard to get a sunset shot without one being in it but I think it ads character.
I also did a few Periscopes while I was on the bridge and had people from all over the world enjoying the view in real time. Come follow me on Twitter so you get alerts when I go live.
It was a great day and the after party was fun. Trey did a presentation and it was great to talk to him for a while. Well worth the money spent on that. Got to talk to other photographers and seen what they are doing. It was a great night.
